The anesthetic from which none come 'round

There's poison in your food, disease in your water and everyone is out to get you. Every day presents a new challenge, or reiterates the existence of other challenges we've already become aware of and yet ignore. Is it so profound to say? One must expend energy to remove oneself from bed, does this not constitute a hurdle bested? One must raise one's voice to be heard, is this not effort? When it seems as though no progress is being made, take stock in what progress has accomplished, be proud to take for granted all those things which must be overcome daily.
